The Boardroom Workshop


Each student begins with a 4-hour, in-person coaching session held in a professional boardroom setting in key UK cities including London, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Cambridge.
Led by experienced recruiters and professional coaches, these small-group sessions (max 10 students) cover:

  • First impressions and presence

  • How to speak confidently under pressure

  • Answering competency-based questions

  • Mastering the STAR technique

  • Group exercises and real-time feedback

  • CV tips and personal branding for LinkedIn

One-to-One Coaching


After the workshop, students can choose 3 follow-up sessions from a menu of 8 one-to-one options, delivered via Zoom. These may include:

  • Mock interviews (Zoom or in-person style)

  • Subject-specific mentoring (e.g. LNAT, MCAT, Oxbridge interviews)

  • CV and personal statement reviews

  • Personal branding and LinkedIn masterclasses

  • Career insight chats with professionals from law, medicine, tech, finance, and more

Beyond the Blackboard was created to bridge the gap between education and employment — giving teenagers and young adults the tools, coaching, and confidence they need to succeed in interviews, build personal brands, and thrive in their chosen careers.

Alongside our intensive interview skills workshops and one-to-one coaching, we also offer specialist mentoring for students preparing for competitive university entrance tests like the LNAT and MCAT. These sessions are delivered by a handpicked team of high-achieving Oxbridge and top-tier university candidates, alongside experienced professional coaches from a wide range of industries — including law, finance, medicine, tech, and education.

  • A realistic one-to-one mock zoom interview tailored to the student’s goals — with detailed feedback on structure, tone, delivery, and content. Ideal for job, university, or apprenticeship interviews.

  • We help students create or refine their CV and cover letter to reflect their strengths, skills, and ambitions — tailored for real-world applications that get noticed.

  • Students learn how to set up a professional LinkedIn profile, connect with confidence, and create a digital presence that attracts employers and admissions teams.

  • This session focuses on handling nerves, speaking with impact, and feeling comfortable under pressure — building the confidence to walk into any interview ready.

  • We guide students through where to find apprenticeships, how to apply effectively, and what makes a strong application — perfect for those exploring alternatives to university. We will also use our industry links to help secure offers for our students.

  • We teach students how to build a professional identity, introduce themselves with confidence, and network smartly — in-person and online.

  • Led by Oxbridge graduates, this session supports students applying to Law or Medicine with focused help on the LNAT or MCAT — ideal for high-achieving candidates.

  • A unique opportunity for students to speak one-to-one with a university student currently studying STEM, Finance, or a related subject at a top UK university. This session offers an honest, informal chat about what the course is really like, how to choose the right pathway, and what career doors open during and after university.
