The Interview Room is part of the Beyond the Blackboard careers initiative — a mission-led programme designed to bridge the gap between education and employment. We equip young people aged 15–23 with the practical tools, confidence, and guidance they need to succeed in interviews, secure apprenticeships, and thrive in professional environments.
Founded by experienced recruiters and educators, we know what employers are really looking for — and we’ve designed our courses to deliver just that. From CV writing to mock interviews, LinkedIn coaching to professional networking, our team brings real-world insight into every session.
We work with a network of trusted professionals, Oxbridge graduates, and employer partners to offer students tailored 1:1 coaching and access to real-world opportunities.

Beyond the Blackboard was created to bridge the gap between education and employment — giving teenagers and young adults the tools, coaching, and confidence they need to succeed in interviews, build personal brands, and thrive in their chosen careers.
Alongside our intensive interview skills workshops and one-to-one coaching, we also offer specialist mentoring for students preparing for competitive university entrance tests like the LNAT and MCAT. These sessions are delivered by a handpicked team of high-achieving Oxbridge and top-tier university candidates, alongside experienced professional coaches from a wide range of industries — including law, finance, medicine, tech, and education.

We help students create or refine their CV and cover letter to reflect their strengths, skills, and ambitions — tailored for real-world applications that get noticed.

Students learn how to set up a professional LinkedIn profile, connect with confidence, and create a digital presence that attracts employers and admissions teams.

This session focuses on handling nerves, speaking with impact, and feeling comfortable under pressure — building the confidence to walk into any interview ready.

We guide students through where to find apprenticeships, how to apply effectively, and what makes a strong application — perfect for those exploring alternatives to university. We will also use our industry links to help secure offers for our students.

The Career Ready Bootcamp is a three-month coaching programme for students aged 15–21, designed to give them the tools, confidence, and strategy to succeed in today’s competitive job, university landscape and apprenticeships.

An intensive, 4 hour in-person group workshop.
Three 1:1 bespoke online coaching sessions.
